- Tour de Tucson Rides -

While going on their desert vacation Mike & Nancy decided to participate in the 30th Annual Tour de Tucson. What could be better than starting a ride only 4 miles from their WorldMark resort, great fall weather, mostly a downhill course and participate in a famous charity bike ride? The ride has a 110, 85, 60 and 42 mile rides all heading the same direction on the route. Their ride, the 42 miler, began at 12pm. They were so lucky to have 70 degree weather with overcast skies and NO wind! Their leg of the route had roughly 1,600 riders, about what participates in the Cool Breeze Rides. Most of the riders had experience with biking crowds and were very curtious during the ride. The best part was when the event coordinators shut down all the roads within 5 miles of the finish line. It was so fun "taking the road" on major streets in downtown Tucson. Try this event some day, but check with Mike and Nancy to get hints that will make your ride even better.
