- About the Group -

Moorpark Bike Rides: Moorpark, California; A social road biking group that is opened to any cycling enthusiast. It is based in Moorpark, California which is in Eastern Ventura County. The goal is to introduce road cyclists to the great rides in the eastern county while using biking as a way to enjoy the day while becoming more fit. No pacelines, no sprints, just relaxed social biking with guys and gals. We regroup often during the rides and have a refueling break halfway on each route. Birthday: August,2010

- Moorpark Bike Participants -

This social biking group was born on August of 2010. Since that time there have been over 430 different riders, as of October 19, 2024, join our routes. Our one day "club record" is 30 riders. Generally there are between 8-20 riders on any given ride. Come join the group on any Saturday from Moorpark or on the 3rd Sunday from Camarillo departing at 8:29am. Note that many participants start the route from their home and join up with the main group somewhere on the route. Hope to see you soon on one of our social rides.

BIKING SAFETY NOTES:

As we all know road biking is a wonderful activity. It invigorates the mind while conditioning the body. However, participating in road biking does have it's hazards. Those being dealing with cars, road hazards and the weather. It is important to be in good physical shape before conducting any vigorous physical exercise such as biking. Get a physical exam from your family doctor. Make sure you have the proper safety items: helmet, eye protection, spare tubes, patch kits, tire levers, cell phone, emergency information and a well tuned bike. Being prepared is important to the enjoyment of one of the best physical activities around, Road Biking. As someone once said ... "What do you call a cyclist without a helmet? An organ donor." If the roads are wet or slick due to rain or fog, the ride is called off. Anyone can ride in any weather, but if it is not safe it is best to not ride.
